60 Minute
Guide to Cgi Programming With Perl 5
by Robert Farrell , Rob Farrell
This A-Z guide gives Web programmers and administrators a thorough introduction to Common
Gateway Interface techniques using the Perl programming language. Featuring information on
searching and forms-handling, the guide is divided into three sections that are easy to
master in 60 minutes or less. The first gets users up and running, the second helps them
get fluent, the third provides applications.

Web Pages With Perl

This book should be standard issue for anyone out there who wants to get a grasp of Perl
without getting buried in egg-head talk! I warmly recommend it to beginners and anyone
else, as even the more expert among us could learn something from this lucid and friendly
book. Buy now.
Cross-Platform
Perl
by Eric F. Johnson , Eric Johnson
This book is aimed at teaching how to get going with Perl on Unix and Windows NT. It
concentrates on real-world examples and includes a CD-ROM loaded with the latest version
of Perl source code, binary versions of Perl for NT and Unix, and Perl freeware.
Introduction
to Cgi/Perl : Getting Started With Web Scripts
by Steven E. Brenner , Edwin Aoki , Brenner
The book covers introductory features needed to begin interpreting PERL used for CGI
scripts. Also, there are explanations of HTTP transactions and creating customized web
pages based on browser input. The book ends with several appendices, the most important
being a trouble shooting helper for script writers and the CGI-PERL library. A must for
new to the job webmasters, especially those not familiar with the C family of languages.
Recommended as a prelude before attempting to learn PERL on your own. It is a pity,
though, that the authors did not review more applicable server scripts such as animated
gifs etc. For all those who think that UNIX is a pain, PERL has got a few more twists.
Perl 5 How-To
by Mike Glover, Aidan Humphreys, Ed Weiss, Reggie David
Perl is the scripting language used by most people setting up their own Web servers. This
book gives Perl programmers everything needed to write professional scripts and solve
practical problems in an easy-to-use, topic-organized format. It provides more than 100
real-life programming situations and their solutions.
Perl 5
Unleashed
by Kamran Husain , Robert F. Breedlove , Charles Salzenberg
The Perl programming language is a powerful, convenient tool for manipulating text,
generating reports, and performing system tasks. Now--for every programmer who wants to
get the most out of Perl--here is a comprehensive guide that covers all the newest
features of the most recent version. The CD-ROM presents source code used in the book,
libraries, and more.
Programming
Perl
by Larry Wall , Randal L. Schwartz , Tom Christiansen , Stephen Potter
In a nutshell (pun fully intended), this is the one book that EVERY Perl programmer should
own. Also known as the "Camel" book (for reasons that will become apparent as
soon as you see the cover), Programming Perl contains everything you need to know about
the language. This second edition expands the scope of the first edition to include the
additional functionality of Perl 5 and also adds some welcome features of its own,
including a much more detailed index and an extremely useful glossary section. My copy of
the first edition is dog-eared and dirty from constant access. I doubt it will be long
before my copy of this edition looks the same.
